Charles Machemehl has worked over the years to promote the use of crushed stone especially crushed stone base. He has considerable sales and marketing experience including pricing and collection procedures. He has lobbyed on the national level. He worked on a number of Strategic Plans and on many projects including Greenfield Sites and acquisitions which required market research, material studies, etc. He is very proud of the part he played in the success of Vulcan Materials Company.
His work with the Geogia Crushed Stone Association kept him involved in all phases of the industry including technical, marketing, environmental, blasting, energy, operations, geology, lobbying, education, public relations, safety, transportation and strategic planning. GSCA is one of the best State Associations in the U.S. |

Married for 52 years to Sonya Clark Machemehl with 2 children, D' Anne passed away in 1983 from cystic fibrosis and Dr. Charles Albert Machemehl,III, an orthodontist in Duluth, Georgia who is married to Penny Ann Machemehl. He has 4 grandchildren, Chase, Chelsea ( who passed away in 1988 at 2 yrs. from leukemia); Hannah, and Chandler.
Charles and and his wife are longtime members of the Episcopal Church. He is a life member of ASCE, NSPE and Texas Surveyor's Association.
